Our olive varieties are Galega and Cobrançosa (Portuguese varieties), Arbequina, Frantoio, Picual and Zambujeiro (wild olives from our ancient tree).
The olives from our millenary and centenary trees are hand-picked while the intensive olive groves are mechanically harvested fully respecting nature and protecting the environment.
We respect the environment and the natural cycle of the tree, combining the traditional practices with the latest technology.
Our young, modern olive groves coexist naturally with our millennium and centenary olive groves. We implemented drip irrigation systems, which under the Integrated Production (Produção Integrada) certifies good environmental practices.
Ourogal has chosen to follow a sustainable and non-industrial agriculture process which allows us to guarantee full traceability and offer organic olive oil.
We go to great lengths to ensure that the olives are harvested at optimum maturity for each of our oils.
We process olives rapidly after picking in order to preserve the polyphenols, mono-unsaturated fats and Omega 9.
Ourogal uses the most modern technology and only produces 1st cold-pressed olive oils.
Resulting in a 100% pure olive juice which flows naturally into stainless steel drums that preserve the characteristics of the oils.
