Ourogal is so dedicated to the continuance of ages-old legacy of olive oil, that it is committed to nurturing a 3350 years old tree, our Millenarian tree (logo) which is possibly one of the oldest olive trees in Iberia.

To guarantee best possible care of this venerable ancient tree, we have partnered with the students of the Professional School of Rural Agriculture Development of Abrantes, under the tutelage of Professor Francisco Cordeiro from the Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinaria.

We believe in playing a role in our community. Through the Millenium Tree project and the improvement of the tree's surroundings, we intend to create a focus of cultural interest, and promote our regional history, for the benefit of our community.
